IKEA SJÖSS 20W Charger Cable Winder
Inspired by the "Brick Buddy" model by Vega3Dprinting (designed for Apple), this project adapts the compact cable winder concept to the IKEA SJÖSS 20W USB-C charger and braided LILLHULT or RUNDHULT cables (1.5 m). This IKEA combo offers excellent value for money and is easy to find anywhere in the world.
The power brick snaps directly into the 3D-printed part via friction fit.
Dual Configuration: Use & Storage
The part offers two positions depending on your needs:
- Use Mode (Plug out): The charger plugs into the wall while keeping excess cable neatly wound. The USB-C port remains accessible and protected from impacts by the walls.
- Storage Mode (Plug tucked in): The prongs slide inside the spool for transport. The unit becomes ultra-compact and won't scratch other items in a bag.
- Tip: The original IKEA cable elastic strap locks everything together once wound.
Design and 3D Printing
- Precise fit: Designed for the European IKEA SJÖSS 20W block (Type E plug). Theoretical compatibility with Type A (US/Japan) but untested.
- Optimized for 1.5 m: The spool is specifically sized for the thickness of braided Lillhult and Rundhult cables.
- No supports needed: The geometry eliminates the need for supports. Bridging is easily handled with standard slicer settings.
